God Shows How Great He Is!

This week we heard the story of God parting the Red Sea to deliver the Israelites from their seemingly hopeless and trapped situation. We talked about how God orchestrated the dramatic scene, hardening Pharoah's heart, out of a desire to show His people how great He is. Nothing else makes God's people as happy as seeing and understanding God's greatness. Before the story, we tried to part a bowl of water using a plastic knife, a spatula, and a pair of scissors. The children thought this was very funny, but they got the point that it is not natural (or easy) to part even a small bowl of water. The children are doing very well at story time, sitting and being attentive, and they especially love to answer the questions afterward.
